Landscape and Garden Design Certificate

The UT Landscape & Garden Design Certificate program is designed for homeowners, gardeners, landscapers, and related professions. Explore your interest in gardening as a hobby, for professional growth and development, or to broaden your knowledge of horticulture. The curriculum provides the fundamental and specialty skills necessary for achieving success in the areas of gardening, residential landscape design, horticultural principles, and appropriate plant selection. To qualify for the non-credit UT Landscape and Garden Design Certificate, you must complete two required courses and six additional courses offered from fall, winter, spring, or summer terms. Landscape Plant Selection for East Tennessee and Home Landscape Design & Installation are required courses. Landscape Plant Selection for East Tennessee must be taken prior to Home Landscape Design & Installation. Candidates have three years to complete the certificate program. A minimum of 75 percent attendance is required for all certificate candidates. Courses may also be taken individually.
