"Digital photography has fundamentally transformed how we look at and photograph the night sky. This eight-hour workshop is your opportunity to get involved in the exciting world of night photography. First, we'll explore the night sky from the perspective of a photographer. Next, we'll discuss the different types of night photography, including star trails, Milky Way images, deep sky objects, and more. We'll cover the equipment, settings, and techniques required to capture images of the night sky. We'll also discuss tools and strategies for planning a night photography shoot. We'll review techniques and strategies to mitigate digital noise, including image stacking and sky tracking. Finally, we'll cover processing techniques that bring nighttime images to life in Photoshop and Lightroom. The workshop consists of two four-hour sessions on consecutive weekends. In between, you'll have assignments to help you get started on your journey in night photography. No special equipment is required; just a tripod, camera, and headlamp."
