SCL is a joint venture between the University of Tennessee’s Center for Professional Education & Lifelong Learning, the John T. O’Connor Senior Center, and the Seniors for Creative Learning organization.

All courses are lecture-based and taught by University of Tennessee faculty, area residents who are experts in their fields, and even some of our own SCL members.

We’re a diverse group of men and women who are at least 50 years of age. We enjoy learning and being around others who share our quest for knowledge. Some of us are retired, some semi-retired, and some homemakers. We come from such fields as the arts, humanities, science, business, education, government, and the military.

We know retirement can be a time of productive enrichment; therefore, we attend courses and activities in areas of our interest. We have choices in multiple areas: the arts, sciences, medicine, philosophy, religion, literature, the social sciences, and more. We host two field trips per term.

All classes are held at the John T. O’Connor Senior Center, 611 Winona Street.
