An essential element of team building is effective communication. In this interactive course, you'll discover your way of expressing yourself through verbal and non-verbal communication and learn how to find effective strategies for communicating with those you find more challenging to work with. You'll gain valuable insight toward how you may be perceived by others and ways to be inclusive of the communication styles of your colleagues.

Tammie Smeltzer
Tammie Smeltzer is a training specialist at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base near Knoxville and oversees a team of military and civilian personnel that develops curriculum in traditional classroom, online learning, and blended formats. She has worked more than 20 years in adult education. Smeltzer is also a retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant with more than 20 years of service. Aside from teaching, she enjoys serving as vice president of the East Tennessee Military Association (ETMA) Credit Union. She holds a master's degree in adult education.
