Thoughtful planning and execution of construction projects can make your landscape more inviting, interesting, and overall more functional. In this helpful course you’ll learn the essentials of using stone, brick, boards, and railroad ties to create beautiful and sturdy walks, walls, borders, and steps. We’ll also emphasize the importance of design, scaling, and practicality, finding the perfect design for your taste, time, and budget.

David Montgomery

David Montgomery is the lead instructor for the UT Landscape & Garden Design certificate program. With a degree in plant and soil science and more than 25 years of experience as a landscape designer, he is highly knowledgeable in horticultural sales, landscape maintenance, and installation.

An instructor of horticultural topics since 2000, David's main emphasis, in all courses, is presenting practical, usable knowledge to those who want a visually stimulating and low maintenance landscape.
