Instructor Joey Holt will discuss some of the plane crashes inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park and our surrounding Appalachian Mountains. These crashes include military, commercial, and private aircraft, including Tennessee's worst passenger plane crash to date. We'll discuss some of the searches and how these people survived until they could be located and rescued. Along with these stories, there will be a presentation with maps and photos of crash sites, crashed planes, and monuments for those who didn't survive.

You must be 18 or older to register for and attend a Smoky Mountain Field School course.

Note: Participants are required to sign an electronic release and assumption of risk form before attending this course.
