In this new course you'll learn to identify which foundations and corporations support local organizations that are focused on children and youth. You'll develop the skills and tools to understand your funder and customize your proposal to match their interests. This course offers hands-on practice using research tools including a major grants database, websites, and tax returns.

P J Silver

PJ Silver is a successful grant writing professional, serving nonprofit organizations in East Tennessee for more than 25 years and securing in excess of $20 million in grant funding.

She recently worked as a volunteer fundraising consultant for No Más Perritos in Chelem, México. Previously, she was the executive director for the Blount County Education Foundation where she oversaw board development and support, the administration of a grant program for teachers and schools, annual events, fundraising, and more.

In 2001, Silver worked with UT Conferences & Non-Credit Programs to design and implement certificate programs in nonprofit management and grant writing; she also served as an instructor for the programs until 2012.
